Somerset, KY – Somerset Fire Department (SFD) is in the process of implementing a new tool that will assist in management of both day-to-day and major incident response. The Rhodium™ Incident Management Suite, created by Incident Response Technologies, Inc. (IRT), is a cloud-based incident management software. Rhodium allows responders to access and share valuable information including crew positions, building plans, and even weather forecasts from computers, tablets, and smartphones. While Rhodium is already used by hundreds of fire and police departments in more than 30 States, the Somerset Fire Department will be the first in Kentucky to deploy this state-of-the-art solution.
“I’ve been in the fire service for twenty years, and this is the best piece of software I’ve seen. I love the way this system is laid out and operates” says Somerset Fire Captain Bengie Howard. “SFD is on a constant mission to provide our community with the absolute best fire service possible. We never stop striving for better ways to protect life and property and to positively impact our community’s ISO rating. Implementing Rhodium has given us a huge leg up in all those endeavors. It gives us a true common operating platform with which to share critical information in near real time in order to make quick and informed decisions when seconds count. A huge side benefit is its impact on our firefighter accountability and safety.”
“We are honored that the Somerset Fire Department has selected Rhodium,” said Jarret Winkelman, IRT’s President. “Rhodium is ultimately about creating effective incident response by improving access to information and communication in the field. We are thrilled to be working with Somerset Fire to help provide a high level of response.”
